StandByMe – Stop online violence against women and girls by chANging attituDes and Behaviour of Young people through huMan rights Education – aims at countering online violence against women and girls (VAWG) via youth actions in Italy, Poland and Hungary and the rest of Europe. The project will empower students to take action against online VAWG, facilitating their ability to detect it and supporting their voice as change agents, giving space to their unique vision and perspective. This through the development of a comprehensive blended learning program, educational materials, updated data and a wide range of actions.
FBK role within the Stand By Me project concerns the design and development of a set of digital tools facilitating the detection of gender hate and violence on social media platforms and supporting the realisation of gamified awareness raising actions targeting youth, in order to promote their active participation and reflection through gamified mobile and web Apps. The project foresees the collaboration of various units in the Digital Society research center: MoDiS, i3, DH and DSLab.
MoDiS focus is on the design and validation of the StandByMe gamified virtual platform that, through a variety of game-based motivational elements (such as missions, challenges, team-level competitions and virtual rewards) and a compelling narrative, supports the definition of online actions and events targeting youth to learn, reflect and act against VAWG.
